On the evening of Oct. 5, 2017, members of the Martha Jefferson Capstone Society and other special guests joined together for the fifth annual Capstone Society Reception, Dinner and Member Recognition at The Lodge at Mount Ida Reserve in southern Albemarle County.
The evening’s celebration honored existing and new Capstone Society members, recognizing their philanthropic leadership, with special remarks by Susan R. Colpitts, founder of Signature Family Wealth Advisors. A certified public accountant, active community volunteer, and expert in the technical areas of financial, tax, trust and estate planning, Susan drew her remarks from her work with clients to create meaningful philanthropic strategies that match their passions and financial resources with appropriate planning structures. William L. “Bill” Achenbach, member of the Sentara Healthcare Board of Directors and former chair of the Martha Jefferson Hospital and Foundation boards, introduced the special speaker. Jonathan Davis, President, Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, welcomed Capstone members and guests, and Ray Mishler, Foundation Vice President, delivered closing remarks. In addition to a delicious dinner and inspiring program, members and guests enjoyed an impressive venue and beautiful fall evening, topped off by a spectacular full moon.
